PhD
Security of LLM agents and their skill and tool ecosystems, prompt injection and jailbreak defences, and AI-assisted penetration and software testing. Strong programming skills expected.
PhD
Adversarial machine learning, AI watermarking and content authenticity, and AI security for distributed energy assets, with links to funded industry projects. Email a CV and transcript.
PhD
Lattice-based cryptography, searchable and functional encryption, anonymous credentials and secure protocols for distributed and AI-enabled systems. A strong mathematics background is expected.
PhD
Privacy-preserving technologies for AI security, trustworthy graph learning, machine unlearning, LLM watermarking, and the interplay between robustness, explainability, privacy and fairness.
PhD
Adversarial, backdoor, poisoning and privacy attacks and defences in federated learning, differential privacy, and privacy analysis of deployed applications.
Honours and capstone
Thesis and capstone projects on secure AI for energy systems, watermark verification for AI-generated content and AI agent security tooling. Open to Griffith students.
Visiting
RISE members host China Scholarship Council visiting scholars and visiting PhD students, typically for six to twelve months, on a topic aligned with one of the four layers.
Each candidate has a principal supervisor from RISE and usually a second supervisor from another layer, so projects cross the framework. To apply, email the member whose work best matches your interests with:
Scholarships
Research fellow positions are advertised on the Griffith careers site when funded projects open. If you have an externally funded fellowship idea that fits a RISE layer, contact the relevant member well before the scheme deadline so we can develop it together.
RISE members host visiting academics, visiting PhD students and China Scholarship Council scholars, typically for six to twelve months. Email your proposed host with a CV, a short plan for the visit and your funding arrangement.
Griffith students can complete honours theses, Masters research projects and capstone projects with RISE members, often linked to funded work on secure AI for energy systems, content authenticity, agent security tooling and applied cryptography. Projects are listed each trimester, and you are welcome to propose your own.
RISE co-designs research with partners and turns it into deployable methods and guidance. We evaluate the security of software, infrastructure and AI-enabled systems, build demonstrators, and co-supervise industry PhD candidates on your problems.
