Many of the most valuable analyses in health, finance and cyber security need data that sits with different organisations, each bound by law, contract or competition not to hand it over. Secure computation makes joint analysis possible while every party keeps its raw data private.

RISE brings together cryptographers and systems researchers to move these techniques from theory to deployable services.

Focus areas

  • Efficient protocols for secure multi-party computation and homomorphic encryption tailored to common analytics workloads, including privacy-preserving machine-learning inference.
  • Hybrid designs that combine cryptography with trusted execution environments to reach practical performance.
  • Lattice-based and post-quantum building blocks, such as authenticated encryption with keyword search and anonymous credentials, so that deployed systems stay secure as quantum computers mature.
  • Verifiable outputs so that participants can check results without learning more than they should.

Target applications include cross-organisational threat analysis, privacy-preserving health and financial analytics and protected cloud computation.
